Before you go
Check current shore access and facilities before planning a beach day at San Niklaw. A coastal view from a boat and a visit on land are different arrangements.
San Niklaw Bay is one of the places that gives Comino more variety than a single lagoon stop. You may also see it called St Nicholas Bay. For visitors planning a boat trip, the most useful information is not a claim about a secret beach: it is how access, transport and the selected route fit together.
Know which bay you are looking for
San Niklaw and Santa Maria Bay are separate coastal locations. When speaking to an operator, use the specific bay name and explain whether you want to see it from the water or spend time on land.
Comino is small enough for place names to appear close together on a map, but that does not make every bay a routine landing point for every trip. A route description should tell you more than just the names of attractive places.
Check current access and facilities
Older guides often describe hotels, beach services or access arrangements that may have changed. Confirm the situation before relying on a shop, restaurant, changing area or a particular shore route.
For a day ashore, pack the essentials you can carry comfortably. For a boat visit, check the product inclusions and whether the trip actually plans a stop at the bay. The two approaches have different practical requirements.
Compare San Niklaw with the Blue Lagoon
The Blue Lagoon has its own managed landing system. Do not assume that an access pass for one location explains all arrangements elsewhere on Comino.
If your priority is a particular beach rather than a wider coastal experience, say so before booking. If your priority is seeing the island from the sea, look at the full route, departure point and time available on the water.
Plan around your group
A clear plan matters more than an ambitious list of stops. Consider how comfortable everyone is boarding a boat, swimming and carrying belongings ashore. Ask about any mobility or equipment needs before reserving places.
Use the booking confirmation for the departure time and meeting point, and leave time to reach the harbour. Our packing guide is a useful final check before setting off.
Make the bay part of the right trip
Talk to the crew if you are specifically interested in San Niklaw Bay. We can explain how your request fits with the available departures and conditions. You can then compare the shared tours and check dates and prices without assuming a guaranteed stop that the chosen product does not promise.
